Will HP ever replace Verizon for Web-Hosting Services on HealthCare.gov? Verizon/Terremark is not going to complain about 18 months of extra revenue

Teremark continues to be extended as CMS struggles to transition to the Virtual Data Center – December 31, 2014, FedBizOpps

This justification supports the award of an out of scope modification which adds optional periods of performance to a Logical Follow-on task order with Terremark Federal Group, Inc. CMS executed and approved a limited Sources Justification (LSJ) to support this logical follow-on order in February 2014. CMS awarded Terremark a logical follow-on order as a short term bridge while CMS transitions this work to the competitively awarded HP Enterprise Services (HP) Virtual Data Center (VDC) task order by March 31, 2015 ….

G2X TAKE: HP and the CMS continue to struggle to replace Verizon/Terremark, though Terremark is not going to complain too much as the various fumbles could result in nearly 18 months to 2 years of additional revenue when all is said and done. In this article from 2013, an analyst with Forester said “It is a major exercise to move something like that,”. Depending on the complexity of the site, he said “it is a minimum of weeks and more like months.” Try years. It does speak to the surprising complexity of this task.
