VA BHIE Sustainment and a second $127M task award

G2X TAKE: With the
Kingdomware ruling in full effect at VA, the opportunities for large businesses
to compete have been few and far between. This 5 year $16.8M contract to
provide sustainment, program management, configuration
management, and Virtual Private Network services in support of the
Bidirectional Health Information Exchange (BHIE) appears to have been an
Systems Made Simple, now Leidos by way of Lockheed, beat out 5 other bidders to receive this award. The SMS/Leidos team has been one of the bigger winners on T4 over the course of the past contract, and given their past performance, they will remain one of the more coveted partners on T4NG and prime competitors for any work that is released full and open.
** We should note that late yesterday we were informed that SMS/Leidos received word of a new 3 year $127M contract award at VA. We are still awaiting confirmation on the scope, so we won't confirm quite yet. Feel free to comment below if you believe you know what it is.
