SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE: Fraud Prevention System (“FPS”) 2.0 modification - February 9, 2014, fbo.gov
The loss of taxpayer dollars through waste, fraud, and abuse drives up health care costs .. Reversing the traditional pay- and-chase approach to detection and prevention is the main goal of the National Fraud Prevention Program, a long-term, sustainable approach that incorporates innovative technologies in integrated solutions. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of qualified small businesses that can provide an IT development and data services solution in support of the CMS requirements for the FRAUD PREVENTION SYSTEM (FPS) …
G2X TAKE: This is an important system for CMS and it would be a little surprising to see them set it aside. Northrop Grumman and Verizon Federal are a couple of larger firms who have played a role over time and you can expect that the IBM, CNSI, GDIT and Optum/QSSIs of the world will be positioning, as they each have capabilities and staff on board supporting this and other similar programs. If this does go small, expect a known player at CMS, such as Cormac or Signature, to be coveted.
February 9 Modification to RFI: Note to Smalls at CMS: CMS just relaxed some of the requirements pertaining to the Fraud Prevention System Sources Sought. They have also extended the response date. If you are a small business interested in/with FPS quals you may want to consider (re-consider) a response.
