The proposed acquisition is a requirement that supports the Scientific Information Technology Branch (SITB), National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS), National Institutes of Health (NIH). To meet the IT requirements, NIAMS has a staff of information technology professionals who are tasked with the information technology functions: design and maintain software, administers systems, and provide hardware and software support and maintenance. In order to assist NIAMS on meeting agency missions and objectives, the Government must augment its existing staff with contractor support.
Responses due April 1, 2015.
G2X TAKE: IAMS requires IT security documentation services support, security program management support, comprehensive Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A) analysis and related IT security services necessary for the success of the NIAMS IT Security Program. A-Tek has been supporting this organization for the past few years, and several other firms, such as Digicon, MSC and LCG will certainly take a closer look at this one. It is reasonable to anticipate that this to be set-aside. If you are looking at this as new entrant to NIH, it may be worth reaching out to the former CIO for NIAMS, Robert Rosen, as he has been away long enough and hung out his own shingle.
