The Division of Technology Management (DTM), part of the Office of Management, Technology and Operations (OMTO) in SAMHSA, is responsible for the development, modernization, enhancement and maintenance of internal custom administrative and enterprise-wide applications and support of the SAMHSA Internet, Intranet and Extranet; document collaboration tools; the security of SAMHSA internal custom applications and sites; the development, maintenance, and adoption of IT policies; the IT portion of acquisition clearances as part of the Clinger-Cohen Act; the Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA); Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC); and IT-related reporting to the Department and other government entities in support of the Agency’s mission.
DTM has developed a variety of applications and Internet, Intranet, Extranet and collaboration sites that support a segment of SAMHSA’s administrative and enterprise processes and functions. These applications and sites provide managers, project officers, budget officers, and administrative support staff with applications and tools to assist in the efficient management of their SAMHSA workload, to perform daily assignments, and to quickly share, exchange, and disseminate information to appropriate staff members internal and external to the SAMHSA community. At this time, most of these applications are web-based and reside in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud, providing efficient and user-friendly access through the Internet, Intranet and Extranet while a few reside on premise and are client/server applications. The applications and the environment within which the applications reside are constantly in flux, i.e., changes are mandated, user support is needed, operations assistance is required, and new equipment and software are acquired that impact the applications and business processes
