G2X TAKE: It has been a busy Spring for Gi4 as, in addition to gaining their first Prime award at VA, this Woman-Owned, HUBZone and SDVOSB, founded by a career U.S. Army officer, Linda Mosel, has added well-known Industry Leader, Rodney Caswell to their management team. (see below to see who is taking his place at TISTA)
A focus for the recent 19-month $4.6M contract award to Gi4 will be on increasing VHA’s ability to verify eligibility and locate other health insurance (OHI) payers, while processing millions of EDI transactions connecting VA to commercial healthcare payers (typically, insurers). Under the new contract, Gi4 is expanding access to a broader payer base, increasing the likelihood of insurance collections for VA. Gi4 will be using the tools and increased payer reach from TransUnion to increase the service levels and increase revenue recovery.
While the win alone would be seen as big for any small business, the bigger news here is the addition of Rodney Caswell to the team as the experience and insight he can bring, having served as a top executive for some of the top small and large consulting firms supporting VA, will instantly bolster the credibility of this small business as both a potential partner and competitor.
In taking the new position with Gi4, Rodney leaves his role as an EVP for the VA Business Unit with TISTA, but as we have learned, TISTA is understood to be serving as a mentor to Gi4.
Lastly, Federal Health Industry veteran, Joe Rhodes is understood to be moving over to TISTA and taking over as EVP for the VA Business Unit. This appears to be very well orchestrated and you can expect to see TISTA and Gi4 partnering soon and often.
