G2X TAKE: Building on a task Octo Consulting was awarded last year to support the CDER mastering of Ingredients data initiative, this CIO-SP3 SB Prime provider of technology solutions recently added this 3-year task to support the FDA Center for Drug Evaluation and Research’s emerging Knowledge Management initiatives.
The scope of the order is to work though a knowledge management roadmap to develop and execute, where possible, an action plan of activities, and to expand CDER’s documented master design/enterprise architecture to additional process areas. This task was competed on the $300M multiple-award CDER Enterprise Data Management BPA, drawing one other bid.
This action follows an effort launched by CDER in July 2018 to conduct a thorough assessment of knowledge management focused on two process areas. An enterprise architecture approach was taken with this project that led to the development of a CDER KM model that includes systems, system interactions, interfaces, business processes, knowledge management data types, data sources, business roles, tools available internally and externally and how they are used, and data repositories of enterprise or office relevance.
