Concept Plus Acquires Federal Health IT Management Services Firm Thao, Inc. – January 30, 2017, By Fred Pennic, HITConsultant.net

Concept Plus, LLC (Concept Plus), a professional services firm specializing in the comprehensive design, implementation, and maintenance of IT initiatives for the Federal Government has acquired health IT management firm Thao, Inc. (THAOINC). THAOINC provides health IT services and program management support exclusively to federal healthcare customers through its highly skilled staff. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Founded in 2010 by Thao Sofo, THAOINC offers federal-specific expertise in EHR interoperability, identity management, and care delivery in organizations like the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA). As part of the acquisition, Sofo will join Concept Plus as an Account Manager for the VA, reporting directly to the Director of Corporate Development, Mr. Chuck Campbell…

G2X TAKE: The acquisition of this WOSB that lay claims to experience supporting DHA and VA and federal-specific expertise in EHR interoperability, identity management, and care delivery helps support this group’s goal of expanding their footprint across the broader federal health IT market.

Concept Plus continues to make big moves and brings their own set of existing Federal health capabilities into this new entity, including prime experience at DHA in support of activities such as Provider/Data Support and Off-site testing efforts and claims processing expertise with Tricare.

The biggest gain out of this acquisition may be the addition of Thao Sofo, a veteran Federal Health IT Executive, as she joins forces with the newly hired Chuck Campbell, former MHS CIO and VA Deputy CIO to help lead Federal Health growth efforts. One to watch in 2017 as efforts at DHA start to ramp up.
