HHS taps Oki Mek to serve as Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO)

G2X TAKE: Oki Mek, a senior emerging technology strategy leader and subject matter expert who has served for the better part of the past decade in progressively responsible roles with the Department of Health and Human services initiating and leading changes through digital transformation that aims to enhance the health and well-being of all Americans, takes on a new challenge serving as the Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer. 

Prior roles include: 

  • Senior Advisor to HHS CIO | HHS Reimagine – U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) 
  • Chief Technology Officer/Chief Product Officer, Division of Acquisition – U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) 
  • Emerging Technology Strategist, Division of Acquisition – U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) 

This time last year Oki was among a select group of G2X Change Agents, recognized among the Federal IT and Consulting leaders from industry and Government who are working every day to take calculated risks and positively disrupt the Federal market, while having a measurable impact on the culture and the critical mission of the organizations they serve, and just recently he was nominated and recognized as one of the FedHealthIT100 honorees, for driving change and advancement in the Federal Health Information Technology and Consulting Market.
