G2X TAKE: The US Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE) has awarded IBM Watson Health a 5-year $13.5M contract under the Technical Services for ASPE/AHRQ/ONC IDIQ to provide Healthcare data assets including claims data from the IBM MarketScan Research Databases and electronic health record (EHR) data to support ongoing Agency research efforts. A critical component of this work includes specialized COVID-19 claims and EHR database builds and research support using this data.
- This continues a string of recent strategic wins for IBM Watson Health related to their family of Healthcare data assets, including a contract at the CDC off of their broad Agency announcement to provide IBM MarketScan Early View Claims and IBM Explorys EHR Data to support surveillance and research around COVID-19 and other acute respiratory illnesses; CMS’s renewal of their IBM MarketScan Commercial, Medicare Supplemental, and Benefit Plan Design Databases license; and another award in September with CDC that continues the 15+ year relationship with the Agency to provide MarketScan data, analytic, research and training support to dozens of offices and centers across the Agency.
