G2X TAKE: Two firms are likely to have thrown impromptu parties last week as they received word they have been awarded a prime spot on a strategic multi-year BPA to support the FDA CDER’s Office of Business Informatics (OBI).
The award has not been officially posted by FDA yet, but we have confirmation that both Octo Consulting and Booz Allen Hamilton were awarded a spot on this contract to support OBI, the office charged with providing leadership and coordination of informatics activities across CDER, leading business planning with CDER offices to assess and prioritize business informatics needs; and translating business priorities into a single, center-wide portfolio of informatics initiatives.
This effort is understood to have been competed on GSA IT-70 as part of an unrestricted competition.
For Booz Allen, this continues the monster year they have had across the broader Federal Health sector, to include more than $1B in new tasks at VA alone.
For Octo, this is a continuation of efforts we have seen from this group as they are working hard to expand their Federal Health footprint, to include picking up their first award at DHA, a DCoE IM/IT Support Task, and a prime award on a new Enterprise Agile Transformation Services (EATS) BPA in support of CMS.
