Established HHS Data, Tech & Innovation lead, Sanjay Koyani, exits, takes CTO role with Department of Labor

G2X TAKE: Sanjay Koyani, armed with perspective gained serving in progressively responsible roles across HHS for more than two decades, takes on a new challenge as Chief Technology Officer with the Department of Labor.  

This senior innovation executive joins DOL after 4 1/2 years with the HHS Chief Technology Office where he played a central role in driving efforts to harness the power of data, technology, and innovation to improve the health and welfare of the nation, to include establishing HHS’s first enterprise-wide data sharing strategy that accelerates how HHS agencies share, integrate, analyze, and visualize federated data to better inform policymaking and evidence-based decision making. 

In his new role as CTO with DOL Sanjay will be focused on advancing innovation, technology transformation, and data strategy, while helping the agency accelerate its work as things settle with the upcoming administration change. 

Prior roles include: 

  • Executive Lead ReImagine HHS Data Insights Initiative – U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) 
  • Executive Director, HHS Chief Technology Office – U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) 
  • Senior Advisor, Office of Budget – Senior Executive Service Rotation – FDA
