“ESAC, Inc. is pleased to announce that it was awarded a 5-year, $24M contract to continue supporting the Electronic Clinical Quality Measures (eCQMs) Standards and Resource Center by CMS. ESAC is teamed with partners Battelle, Mathematica, Dynamic Content Group, and Mettle Solutions. The work includes providing support for existing clinical quality measurement standards for reporting, transitioning to new standards, as well as maintaining the eCQI resource center – a ‘one-stop shop’ for all eCQM related information.”
“eCQMs use data electronically taken from electronic health records (EHRs) and health information technology systems to measure the quality of health care provided. CMS uses eCQMs in quality reporting and other value-based programs.”
“The ESAC team shares CMS’ goals of improved health outcomes using eCQMs,” said ESAC President, Anand Basu. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with CMS.”
“This is an important initiative for CMS and for the greater healthcare community,” said ESAC Project Manager, Traci Psihas. “We have a strong, hardworking team committed to advancing the use of eCQMs and we are thrilled to continue support of it …”

G2X TAKE: ESAC, a small business provider of research data management, bioinformatics, and Healthcare information technology solutions, recently beat out two other bidders to be awarded a 5-year contract to support this effort to bring together stakeholders from across the eCQI community and to provide a centralized location for news, information, tools, and standards related to eCQI and eCQMs. This contract was competed and awarded using GSA IT-70.
- ESAC is a known incumbent on this effort having been awarded a 5-year Electronic Clinical Quality Measures (eCQMs) Standards and support contract in 2015. While known primarily at CMS for their eCQM expertise, this group does have prior experience supporting multiple work streams of the CMS esMD initiative through all phases of the ONC S&I Framework enabling the electronic exchange of medical documentation between Healthcare Providers and Payers, as well as their intermediaries.
- In addition to this win, ESAC was also recently awarded a Prime spot on a $49M Clinical Decision Support (CDS) IDIQ in support of Veterans Affairs, thus adding another key Prime contract vehicle option across the Federal sector. This win adds to this group’s existing set of Prime options, to include the $1.6B CMS Measure and Instrument Development and Support (MIDS) IDIQ, the enterprise Intelligence Automation/Artificial Intelligence (IAAI) IDIQ with HHS, the HHS PSC IDIQ and 8(a) STARS II.
- In late 2018, ESAC recruited experienced Strategic Business Development Director Jim Batchelder to serve as an Executive Director for Strategic Business focused on providing new business development strategies and leadership in the Federal Healthcare markets. ESAC’s major clients include the Centers for Medicaid & Medicare (CMS), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Federal Drug Administration (FDA), National Cancer Institute (NCI), and National Institutes of Health (NIH). - Led by President Anand Basu and EVP and Founder Shine Jacob, ESAC was recently named to the updated list of NXT UP firms poised to make big waves in the Federal sector in 2020 and for years to come.
