G2X TAKE: After announcing this time last year that she was departing MHS for a role with Academia, Dr. Terry Adirim returns to the Department of Defense to serve as Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs.
As the Acting ASD, Dr. Adirim is the principal advisor to the Secretary of Defense and the Undersecretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness for all DOD health and force health protection policies, programs, and activities. More here.
This physician executive with senior leadership and executive experience in academic medicine and the Federal Government will bring prior perspective gained as the Acting Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs driving policy development and program oversight of the Military Health System’s clinical policies and programs, including quality improvement and patient safety, MHS GENESIS (electronic health record) implementation, disease prevention, population health, behavioral health, among others.

- Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, Professor and Chair – Florida Atlantic University Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine
