DHA Health IT Director, David Bowen, provides insight into DHA initiatives as part of keynote address given at Cornell Business School

DHA Health IT Director gives keynote address at event for fellow Cornell Business School Alum -– February 11, 2015, Health.Mil

DHA  Health IT Director David Bowen, an alumnus of the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Business at Cornell University, told fellow Cornell business alumni gathered for an annual dinner in downtown Washington, D.C., on Feb. 5, that his directorate is responsible for some key mission aspects of DHA… Bowen said it is important for DHA to partner with other government agencies to find improved methods to treat patients who suffer from traumatic brain injuries (TBI), which has also become a serious public health issue. “We are collaborating with the National Institute of Health to create a repository of all TBI research data. This will enable us to build on previous work to discover the causes of TBI and develop new treatments for those suffering the consequences of their injuries.”

G2X TAKE: This article provides a high level overview of the mission of DHA and the achievement in savings as a result of the implementation of shared services across the Military Health System. A key takeaway from this article is the fact that cross-agency activity is increasing; as noted by the activities in support of treating patients suffering from traumatic brain injuries (TBI). Contracts supporting a domain-specific area, such as TBI and Mental Health, can be leveraged to position your company for those initiatives at DHA and elsewhere.
