Clinical Assessment, Reporting, and Tracking System for Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories (CART) addresses the critical need for a systematic, national method for tracking the use of these procedures. CART is a standalone application fully integrated with Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) that enables providers to reuse and annotate existing Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA)/CPRS data such as vitals, medications, labs and problems and enter additional discrete and textual data for assessment, diagnostic procedures and PCI interventions in the cath lab The Contractor shall be responsible for the maintenance of the existing CART system as well as modifications and enhancements to CART applications and databases.
G2X TAKE: CART shows the specialization required to support clinical systems at VA. The maintenance of the existing system and even modifications and modest enhancements dont require clinical domain expertise and cardiac specialization, but certainly the development of CART modules would. Included is a link to an excellent historical overview of the CART program/system. A key POC on this project is Tamara Box.
Update: After canceling the solicitation late January, CART was re-released with the final response due February 19.
