CMS awards $30M contract for support of National Plan & Provider Enumeration System
G2X TAKE: This multi-year total small business set-aside contract is in support of the CMS NPPES. The Administrative Simplification provisions of HIPAA mandated the adoption of standard unique identifiers for health care providers and health plans. The CMS developed NPPES to assign these unique identifiers. This contract had three bidders and the winner was TurningPoint Global Solutions. TurningPoint was a 2015 Federal Health IT Innovation Award winner for its work on the CMS Advanced Provider Screening project, and if their phone wasn’t already ringing off the hook for SPARC, this will likely change that.
