G2X TAKE: Beating out one other bidder, this CMS SPARC prime was recently awarded this 58-month task to provide a single front-end solution for the submission and retrieval of electronic transactions, and to promote both standardization and greater efficiencies in inbound and outbound EDI exchange for the CMS Medicare Durable Medical Equipment (DME) fee-for-service (FFS) claims processing environment.
Competed on CMS SPARC unrestricted, this task was awarded to incumbent National Government Services, who is just wrapping up the 5-year predecessor contract for support of CEDI.
As part of this task, NGS will provide all the necessary hardware, software and labor necessary to be responsible for receiving, sending, translating, routing, editing and retaining all DME MAC electronic transactions, as well as trading partner management and EDI Help Desk support. The CEDI System processes an estimated volume of 77-80 million FFS DME claims per year.
With significant change expected in 2018 at CMS, this group with capabilities that include specialized services in claims administration, data management, financial management and large-scale IT systems, is poised to be a strategic player at CMS, irrespective of the direction the new administration takes.
