G2X TAKE: RAND, a leading nonprofit institution focused on helping improve policy and decision-making through research and analysis, has been awarded a new 5-year contract with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to support implementation of the CAHPS surveys for the merit-based incentive payment system, Medicare shared savings program, and next generation ACO. This contract, valued at $16M, was awarded using the GSA Professional Services Schedule (PSS) drawing no other bidders.
- This award builds on a string of wins totaling more than $48M that went to RAND in support of CMS to close FY 2020, and it adds to their very broad and extensive set of past performance with CMS that ranges from supporting the Value-Based Insurance Design (VBID) Model Evaluation; driving the National Implementation of the MA and PDP CAHPS Survey; and supporting calculation of the Star Ratings that measure quality and performance of Medicare Advantage (MA) and Part D contracts; providing Medicare Advantage Encounter Data Integrity Protocol Management & Analytic Support; and gathering survey data on efforts ranging from the National Implementation of the EDPEC Discharged to Community (DTC) Survey and the CAHPS Hospice and CAHPS for ACOs survey initiatives.
- RAND maintains access to a number of key contract vehicles to include serving as Prime on the $5B CMS RMADA 2 and $1.6B CMS MIDS IDIQs.
