G2X TAKE: With several CDC contract vehicles set to expire in the next few years, any new multiple-award contract is worth taking note. The award of this 5 year BPA is to provide a broad set of services across three domains in support of NCHS.
The first two domains awarded are for more typical survey support services with Domain I focused on design and implementation, while Domain II focuses on in-person data collection. The more competitive Domain III (which drew 10 bidders), and the one that is likley to be of more interest to this group, is focused on electronic data collection activities.
CDC remains a challenging environment to break into, and most of these awardees are familiar faces to CDC. The one exception on this list may be CGI Federal. While well known across the broader Federal Health sector, outside of one small prime contract, this group is not considered a mainstay at CDC. Winning these types of BPAs can provide a valuable and strategic foot in the door.
