G2X TAKE: GDIT, a major Federal Health player and longtime partner to CDC, who specializes in helping agencies to address new challenges and identify opportunities through the application of technology and services, has been awarded two new tasks with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
For the first, GDIT was awarded a 3-year $7M task to provide Cybersecurity Program Office (CSPO) Security Operations Center (SOC) support 24x7x365. The task was awarded using GSA Alliant 2 drawing no other bidders.
GDIT was also awarded a new 5-year CDC support services task. The task, valued at $17M, was awarded using OASIS.
- These awards build on a string of significant wins for the GDIT CDC team led by recently promoted Vice President, Sumesh Sundareswaran. These include adding a COVID-19 Epidemiology Task Force Pandemic Response task award; a $24M NCHHSTP Informatics Technical Support task; a 5-year EOC On-site Support task; a 2-year Cloud Consultancy task; being named as Prime on a $90M National Center for Health Statistics Electronic Data Collection Support BPA; an $8M Acquisition Management System (AMS) support task; a $5M IT Support Services task.
- GDIT recently recruited IT executive Jeffrey Chesko as Senior Director, GWAC Program Office and they tapped industry leader Dave Collins as Vice President.
- Led by Federal Health Sector Vice President & General Manager, Kamal Narang, GDIT was recently identified on the updated list of NXT UP firms poised to make big waves in the Federal sector in 2020 and for years to come (More here) and they were one of the firms recently named to Forbes’ Best Management Consulting Firms 2020. We should also note that Kamal was named to the FedHealthIT100, an award that honors those individuals recognized for driving change and advancement in the Federal Health Information Technology and Consulting Market.
- GDIT had a number of recent job postings related to support at CDC to include a Business Administrator to support CDC’s Office of the Deputy Director for Science and Surveillance (DPPHSS) leaders and CIO Implementation Leads; and a Senior Public Health Communications Specialist to work with CDC Health Communications, scientific, and management staff. They also had a recent job opening for a cybersecurity analyst to help CDC develop and operationalize its Cybersecurity Program, and to develop software and systems engineering and software systems research to develop new capabilities, ensuring cybersecurity is fully integrated.
