G2X TAKE: Booz Allen Hamilton, a global technology and management consulting firm and longtime partner to the FDA just beat out three other bidders to be awarded this 5-year task to provide Digital Transformation Services to the FDA Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH). This is the FDA branch responsible for the premarket approval of all medical devices, as well as oversight of the manufacturing, performance and safety of these devices. This task was competed on the CIO-SP3 GWAC.
Almost a year ago to the day, G2X wrote a piece entitled “Booz Allen cleaning up at FDA – adds $100M+ in contract wins to close FY18.” We almost certainly could have written a similar story every year for the past decade highlighting Booz Allen at FDA, and this year is no different.
Some other recent competitive wins we have noted for this team at FDA include a two-year Scientific Studies IDIQ task out of CDER to support the development of an Opioid Systems Modeling Policy tool and a 3-year $10M FDA Safety and Innovation Act (FDASIA) Support Services BPA task to support New Drug Modernization and Implementation Support. With 10 days left in the fiscal year, we will not be surprised to see this list grow in the days ahead as FDA continues to lean on this group.
