G2X TAKE: Building on the big news out last week that woman-owned small business A-TEK has acquired CMS SPARC Prime and major FDA IT partner, Mackson, comes word that this CIO-SP3 Prime has recruited industry veteran Edward “Ted” Schmitt, who will bring experience driving delivery and growth for some of the top Federal Health technology consulting firms in town.
Prior roles include:
- Senior Vice President – Salient CRGT
- Vice President, Agile Development Solutions – Information Innovators Inc. (Triple-i)
- Program Manager – GlobalNet Services, Inc.
- Director – CGI
Combined with the news that Mary Biear, the Founder and Former CEO of Mackson, will remain with A-TEK after the acquisition, a now broader set of past performance that cuts across the Federal Health sector, and the addition of several new contract vehicles, to include numerous single award Blanket Purchase Agreements, this group, led by CEO, Kathryn Freeland and EVP, Stephanie Cumberbatch, is setting itself up nicely for future growth.
Big investments and big hires do not guarantee success, but they do signify intent. This group will clearly be one to watch as we close out FY19 and look to a busy 2020.
