NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: bioMerieux - Preventative Maintenance

The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) intends to award a sole source contract to bioMérieux, Inc. for the annual preventive maintenance, verification, and calibration of 13 Media Preparation Units and nine TEMPO Automated Systems. These services will be performed at the Eastern Laboratory in Athens, Georgia; the Midwestern Laboratory in Normandy, Missouri; and the Western Laboratory in Albany, California. The contract includes a 12-month base period and four 12-month option years. All work must be completed by Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) certified technicians using OEM parts to ensure compliance with ISO 17025 standards and to maintain the regulatory accreditation essential for FSIS testing.

While the agency intends to sole source the award, responsible sources may submit capability statements to the point of contact, Angela Carey, to demonstrate their status as an OEM-authorized dealer, distributor, or reseller. Submissions must include company identifiers such as CAGE code and UEI, along with evidence of authorization to service TEMPO and Media Prep systems using certified technicians. The government will use these responses to determine whether a competitive procurement is warranted.
