Scaffolding Rental and Erection at Kentucky Lock and Dam

The U.S. Department of the Army, Pittsburgh District, is soliciting for the rental and erection of scaffolding at the Kentucky Lock and Dam under solicitation number W9123725QA062. The contractor is required to erect 40 feet of stair scaffolding from the bottom of a dewatered lock chamber floor to the top of a temporary dam, positioned approximately 10 to 15 feet upstream of the lower miter gates. This structure must be anchored to the vertical concrete lock wall and supported by five steel plates, each measuring five-by-ten feet and one inch thick, to ensure stability on the chamber floor. This procurement is an SBA Small Business Administration set-aside classified under NAICS 532490 Other Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Rental and Leasing and PSC 5450 MISCELLANEOUS PREFABRICATED STRUCTURES.

Performance is scheduled to occur in two phases, with the erection of the scaffolding taking place on October 27-28, 2025, after the lock chamber is dewatered. The contractor will then return to disassemble the scaffolding between November 17-18, 2025. During both the erection and disassembly phases, the government will provide cranes, crane operators, and riggers to move scaffolding components, equipment, and personnel between the parking area and the lock chamber floor.
