66--Thin Prep Pap Test Kits and associated processing supplies for the Clement J. Zablocki VAMC.

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC), intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Cytyc Corporation for the procurement of seven Thin Prep Pap Test kits and associated processing supplies. These items are required for the Clement J. Zablocki VAMC in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This procurement is identified under solicitation number VA-69D-10-RQ-0116 and is classified under NAICS 334516 Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing and PSC 66.

The government intends to award this contract to Cytyc Corporation because it is the only responsible source capable of satisfying agency requirements in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, and no solicitation documents are available. If no responses are received from other capable firms, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation as planned.

Firms that believe they can meet the requirements must submit detailed information regarding their products, services, and customer references to the Contracting Officer, Darryl Mahaffy, by 2:00 PM CST on December 9, 2009. Supporting evidence must demonstrate the ability to comply with the stated requirements and should be sent to the VAMC GLAC in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, or submitted via fax. The determination to compete the procurement based on any received responses remains at the sole discretion of the government.
