Notice of Intent for D2 Tool Steel Electro Slag Remelt (ESR) Bars

The Department of the Treasury, Treasury Common Services Center (TCSC)-Acquisition Services, issued this special notice of intent to award a sole source firm-fixed-price contract to Redding Steel, LLC. The procurement is for D2 Tool Steel Electro Slag Remelt (ESR) bars, which serve as a critical raw material for the production of surface pieces used in printing United States currency. Performance will take place at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing facilities in Washington, DC, and Fort Worth, Texas. The government identified Redding Steel, LLC as the only tested and approved source capable of meeting specific technical dimensions and tolerances required for these steel bars.
